Route 66 Wind Project is developed by Boston-based developer First Wind Energy. Located 15 miles east of Amarillo, Texas along the original US Route 66 that follows an east-west line across the Texas Panhandle. The 16,000-acre wind project consists of seventy-five (75) Vestas V100 2.0 MW that provides 150 MW of renewable energy. Terra Testing, LLC (Terra) provided geotechnical drilling, sampling and field testing, geotechnical laboratory testing for seventy-five (75) Vestas 2 MW turbine foundations, transmission line, substation, O&M building, and met tower.
